Rikolto in Southeast Asia (SEA) operates in Vietnam, with an office based in Hanoi. To support the implementation of our Rice Project in the Mekong Delta region, we are seeking to recruit a motivated and qualified Vietnamese professional for the Rice Project Manager position. This position will be based in Dong Thap Province.

Job Overview:

Under the direct supervision of the Rice Programme Manager, the Rice Project Manager oversees the management, coordination, and implementation of rice projects and interventions in collaboration with partners across Dong Thap and An Giang Provinces. The position also contributes to programme strategy and planning, knowledge sharing, fundraising, and the scaling up of effective intervention models, in support of Rikolto in Vietnam’s strategic objectives.

Contract type: Full-time, one-year contract, with the possibility of extension.

Expected starting date: December 2026

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate rice projects and interventions, ensuring effective implementation, timely delivery of results, and efficient use of resources.
• Supervise and guide the Rice Project Team, coordinating project activities across Dong Thap and An Giang Provinces.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, private-sector actors, government agencies, research partners, donors, and development organisations.
• Monitor project progress and indicator achievements, ensure timely reporting, and work with the team to integrate lessons learned into project reviews and planning.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of rice programme strategies, ensuring alignment with Rikolto’s national and global objectives.
• Support fundraising by identifying funding needs and contributingto the development of concept notes and proposals.
• Collaborate with the Communications Officer to develop and disseminate project communication materials, publications, policy briefs, and lessons learned.
• Contribute to strategic reflection, knowledge sharing, and regional collaboration to scale up effective intervention models and promote structural change.

Basic requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as agriculture, sociology, economics, rural development, or food systems. A relevant MSc degree is an asset.
• At least 8 years of experience in value chain development and development programmes in the rice sector.
• Strong knowledge of rice value chains, inclusive business, social inclusion, governance, and climate change-related issues.
• Proven experience working with diverse stakeholders in Vietnam, including farmers, government agencies, and the private sector, with demonstrated experience in project or programme management and team leadership.
• Good understanding of strategic programme planning, project management, and the Theory of Change approach.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, networking, communication, and collaboration skills, including in an international environment.
• Ability to develop or contribute to high-quality concept notes, proposals, reports, and other written materials in English.
• Excellent command of Vietnamese and English, both spoken and written.
